Cloak & Dinner: E Pluribus uNOM Invite


E Pluribus uNOM

Good afternoon. In less than an week, dinner guests will join others from around Los Angeles. And you will be eating the most American meal in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We must be united in our common tastes. Perhaps it's fate that next week is the Fourth of July, and we will once again be eating for our freedom... Not for tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but hunger. We are eating and drinking for our right to live. To exist. And when we finish the meal, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to eat! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!"

please be prepared to bring CASH to the event, I can't take credit cards
please plan to be on-time and for the dinner to last from 3-4 hours

this dinner will be on a rooftop, so dress appropriately for sundown

Cloak & Dinner: Rookie Blunders Invite

Rookie Blunders

So, um, we want to make you a delicious five course dinner, but we can't promise everything will go smoothly. We've only done this once. Do you have any idea how hard it is to put on one of these damn things?  It's really hard. Sure, sometimes we might accidentally give you dessert as an hors d'oeuvre or a soup instead of a palette cleanser. We will try our best, but mistakes are unavoidable. THESE THINGS HAPPEN. WE'RE NEW. LAY OFF.

Oh, you went to a five star restaurant and they served your entree in the middle of the meal? La dee FLIPPIN' da. We're underground, people. Shit happens.
So, if you're looking for a night of great food and cocktails, and you're willing to roll with the punches as we iron out the kinks, please be our guest to "Rookie Blunders."

Cloak & Dinner: Any Colour You Like || 5/30/11

Having finally attended my first underground supper club w/ delicious food by Isaiah at The Pheast, (and subsequently working on another dinner which yes I will blog about at some point very soon) I saw both the hard work & the indescribable joy that came out of the experience, and I knew it was time to finally get my own dinner party underway...

Introduce an improv aficionado (in both cooking & comedy) and an adorable (I can say that, he's my boyfriend) mixologist into the mix... with the addition of my deliciously baffling concoctions and we have ourselves the perfect recipe.  Wanting to encapsulate both our avant-garde style & our playful creativity, the Cloak & Dinner supper club was born.
